NICR History

The NICR set up research cooperation wards in Taipei Veterans General Hospital (VGH-TPE), National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) and the Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) in 1991, 1995, and 2006 respectively; the NTUH Ward was closed in July 2006, and currently only retains outpatient services. In August and December 2007, the wards in TSGH and VGH-TPE also ended the cooperation relationship. The entire clinical research of NICR moved to Tainan in August 2007, and established a research ward in cooperation with National Cheng-Kung University Hospital (NCKUH).

The NICR also set up cooperative laboratories at VGH-TPE and NTUH in 1993 and 1997, and merged to National Defense Medical Center in July 2004 to continue basic research. The whole laboratories relocated to NHRI in Zhunan and some laboratories were moved to NCKUH with clinical research in August 2007.
